Broker looking to make further acquisitions across the South East, Central South and M4 corridor
Academy Insurance Services has invested in a new IT infrastructure with Open GI in order to accommodate recent acquisitions and manage its internet and email services.
Academy is a rapidly expanding multi-branch operation based in Berkshire, selling both personal and commercial lines. The company has introduced a full Internet and email exchange solution from Open GI, managed via their Enhanced Support Service.
The service effectively allows Academy to outsource all of their IT administration to Open GI without having to recruit any additional internal IT staff or embark on third party contracts.
Dave Bard, chairman, Academy Insurances, said: “We have used the Open GI system for many years. In order to accommodate our aggressive expansion plans we needed to revamp our IT infrastructure and centralise our internet and email services without having to recruit any additional IT staff.
“With over 110 users across 12 branches we had outgrown our existing IT infrastructure. The new contract with Open GI means they look after everything for us so we can get on with selling insurance and making further acquisitions.”
Simon Hughes, sales and marketing director of Open GI, said: “With acquisitions high on the agenda for many of our brokers it is important they consider their future IT requirements so that that optimum performance and stability is maintained. This includes managing their internet and email services effectively.
“Academy wanted to be able to do ‘more, faster’ without having to increase headcount, which is why they, and many other brokers, have asked us to manage the system for them.”
