Aviva has 'revolutionised' brokers personal lines pricing, according to Sam Hudson
Open GI has integrated its motor quote engine with Aviva’s web-based rating engine in order to provide more competitive, real-time rates to brokers.
The rates are available exclusively to software houses via Aviva’s new PowerPoint product range. The Open GI roll out on motor will begin this month, with household scheduled for later in the year.
Sam Hudson, head of broker personal lines, Aviva, said: “This development is all about making our personal lines pricing for brokers as competitive as possible and learning from the direct channel. Real time rating for brokers via software houses is a significant step forward.
“We were keen to work with Open GI as they are one of the biggest software houses in the UK. With 40% of the broker market using the system every day to generate quotes, it offers a massive opportunity. There are hundreds of broking sites which could immediately benefit from these rates so we want to do all we can to make the quote process as user friendly as possible.
“We’re being told we’ve revolutionised the way personal lines is priced in the broker marketplace, and Open GI will only help drive this forward.”
David Kelly, business development director, Open GI, said: “At Open GI our aim is to provide customers with the best rates and the best service. Our quote engines are already extremely powerful, providing access to over 1,000, products from 100 carriers. Linking them to Aviva’s dynamic rating engine only makes them even more powerful.
“It makes sense for insurers to do all they can to improve their rates, particularly for the broker channel. Brokers command an extremely important share of the market and have proved their resilience through difficult economic periods. This development is a major step forward in our work with insurers and one which we see being replicated across the market.”
