Renewal business of Pharmacy Mutual Insurance to transfer
A new insurance brand, the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) Insurance Limited has been created from the renewal business of Pharmacy Mutual Insurance and the NPA’s own Chemists’ Defence Association.
The NPA is one of the UK’s strongest trade associations, enjoying a voluntary membership of virtually all (98%) of pharmacy owners, from multinational corporate chains to the independently owned pharmacy in the high street.
NPA Insurance provides professional indemnity for around 84% of pharmacies in the UK.
NPA chief executive Alison White said: "We have taken a long hard look at the needs of the pharmacy market and will create a dynamic offering that will meet all the insurance needs of pharmacists, pharmacy staff and their family members today and in future.
"NPA Insurance will strive to provide a tailored range of products that provide excellent value for money as well as high quality."
Existing PMI policies will continue to be solely administered by PMI until their individual renewal dates, when they will be passed to the NPA Insurance.
