Network strengthening board as part of succession planning
Appointed representative broker network TEn Insurance has hired Alistair Body as a board director.
He was previously regional development director for the south of England at Direct Line Group’s broker-only commercial insurer, NIG. He was responsible for a $200m gross written premium portfolio.
Before his two years with NIG, Body spent three years at commercial underwriting agency Arista, now part of Towergate, where he was most recently branch manager in St Albans.
Body’s appointment follows TEn’s trasition to an employee owned company. The company is now strengthening its board as part of its succession planning.
TEn managing director Malcolm Lee said: “Now that we have secured the future ownership and independence of TEn for the benefit of our staff and broker members, our thoughts have turned to succession planning.
“Whilst our current board members are all extremely active and committed to their roles, there will come a time when we, like all businesses, will need to consider changes to the management team.
“By strengthening our management team now with young but experienced new talent, we will ensure that the TEn Board is well placed to meet the challenges of the present and the future.”
Commenting on Body’s appointment, Lee said: “We have known Alistair for many years and I am delighted to welcome him to TEn. Alistair will bring, along with youth and enthusiasm, significant business expertise which will enhance our business development and add to the overall considerable experience of the existing management team.”
