NIG has completed the line-up of its new look senior management team with the announcement of two new appointments.
Steve Kingshott, formerly Royal and SunAlliance's underwriting director of commercial packages, joins as director of underwriting and pricing, while Peter Johnson, currently head of operations at NIG's premium finance company Finsure, becomes head of broker underwriting.
Both men will report to NIG's managing director Charles Crawford.
The appointments fill the last two vacancies in NIG's senior team, thus completing the company's restructuring process at the highest level. Other members of the senior management team who have already been confirmed in post are:
· Michael Rea, director of finance
· Mike Crane, director of operations
· David Parker, director of distribution
· Vivek Banga, head of e-commerce and emerging channels
· Trevor Brittain, director of Finsure
Crawford said: “Our aim has been to create what we're calling One NIG – a unified business with the commercial and personal lines underwriting teams working together. But it's not just about underwriting, it's been about re-engineering our entire business so that it can reach its fullest potential in terms of service standards, growth and meeting the need of our customers.”
He added: “Our ultimate objective is to become one of the UK's foremost insurers in the intermediary channel.”
Steve Kingshott is a well respected underwriter and manager with over 19 years' experience in the insurance industry. He holds an MBA from Lancaster University Business School and has held a number of senior positions within Royal and SunAlliance and its personal lines subsidiary More Than.
NIG announced it was to restructure in November last year.
