’She brings extensive experience across both finance and business functions,’ says chief executive
Zurich has appointed Claudia Cordioli as its new chief financial officer, a statement released yesterday (14 December 2023) revealed.
Cordioli will join the firm on 1 March 2024 and succeed George Quinn, who has decided to step down after 10 years.
Quinn will stay with the insurer to oversee the completion of its 2023 annual results and help ensure a smooth transition.
”I would like to thank George for his remarkable contribution to Zurich over the last 10 years, reflected in Zurich’s strong financial position – notably our robust SST – balance sheet and ratings,” chief executive Mario Greco said.
”I would like to wish George much continued success in his future endeavors.”
Experience
Cordioli will join Zurich from Swiss Re, where she held multiple roles across finance over the past 20 years.

Most recently, she served as group finance director and oversaw core finance functions.
And between 2020 and 2022, she was the chief financial officer of the reinsurance business unit at the firm.
Before joining Swiss Re, she worked in several consulting firms, including KPMG.
”I am delighted to welcome Claudia to Zurich,” Greco said.
”She brings extensive experience across both finance and business functions, coupled with a proven record of delivering impactful results, building effective teams and driving change.”
