Alliant has appointed a number of senior vice-president positions over the summer months
Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has sued broker Alliant Insurance Services for reportedly ”poaching its staff” to grow its public entity team.
WTW alleged that the rival firm hatched a secret plot to “orchestrate a mass resignation” of employees from its public entities team, claiming that the “coordinated raid” was an effort to “illegally destroy” it.
At the start of August, Alliant named former WTW senior vice-president Mike Honeycutt as its new senior vice-president of Alliant Public Entity, its public entity insurance business.
Honeycutt was also previously Aon’s vice-president prior to his position at WTW.
Following this, Karen Caterino joined Alliant - also in August - as another senior vice-president in its public entity team. Prior to starting at Alliant, Caterino worked for WTW within its public entity business and as education centre of excellent leader, west.
Team building
Meanwhile, WTW’s Phil Williams was hired by Alliant at the end of July as its senior vice-president for its public entity business.
During his tenure at WTW, Williams served on the leadership team for the national public entity, alternative risk and pooling practices.
WTW’s former executive vice president Kaci Snyder was also hired by Alliant at the end of July to become senior vice-president in the public entity team.
Earlier in July, Alliant additionally hired Mark Goode as its senior executive, vice-president and managing director - in this role, Goode will work to establish the Alliant Public Entity Education and Pooling practice.
Goode previously worked at Willis as its managing director of North America, public entity and education practice.
Other teams at Alliant have also welcomed former WTW staff. For example, Tim McGinnis was recruited in July as Alliant’s senior vice-president for its construction services group. He was previously at WTW as its west region construction leader.
WTW declined to comment.
Insurance Times has also contacted Alliant for comment.
