’He is an exceptional leader and I am pleased to have him join our team,’ says group chief executive

US-based Hadron has appointed Colin Johnson as the new chief executive of its international operations after entering the UK market.

The carrier entered the UK market in February 2024 with its acquisition of London-based insurer Folgate, which has now rebranded to Hadron UK Insurance Company (HUKIC).

Johnson’s remit includes oversight of HUKIC and its affiliates.

He will also help Hadron, which was launched in 2023, reach its goal of writing over $200m across its platforms in 2024.

Sam Reeder, chief executive at Hadron, said: “Johnson is an exceptional leader and I am pleased to have him join our team to help accelerate our growth in the UK and other international markets in time.

“As we look toward growing our business in 2025 and beyond, Johnson’s expertise will be invaluable to me and the rest of the team.”

Experience

Johnson joins Hadron after serving as chief executive at Accredited Insurance Europe for just under seven years.

Before this, he was the top boss at Randall and Quilter Insurance Services.

Speaking about taking on his new role, Johnson said: “I am delighted to join the team at Hadron and build on their already impressive momentum since launching.

“I look forward to partnering with Reeder and the rest of the team to help build out a diversified, broad strategy that targets mid-market specialty commercial MGAs and MGUs with mature operations and profitable portfolios.”
