Helios Underwriting has appointed Katharine Wade as an independent non-executive director.
Wade will begin her role effective immediately and join Helios’ board as part of the move.
She brings over 29 years of experience in financial markets at board and management level within the UK and internationally.
The new appointee currently serves as chief financial officer at Aegis, where she is responsible for strategy, capital raising and financial controls.
She has also held the equivalent role at the UK entities within the Aspen Group and ACE Tempest Re.
’Valuable addition’
Helios executive chairman Michael Wade said he was “delighted” to welcome the new appointee.

“Katie’s considerable experience, strong financial background and charitable service will make a valuable addition to the company,” he added.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
