’An expanded scale will only help in securing more competitive premiums for all our partners’ customers,’ says chief distribution officer

Uinsure has gone on a hiring spree after securing several major partnership deals off the back of RSA’s recent withdrawal from the UK home insurance market.

In December 2023, RSA announced the sale of its direct personal lines operations – comprising home and pet lines – to Admiral.

Admiral completed the deal for £82.5m in April 2024.

Since then, Manchester-based insurtech Uinsure has secured multiple building society, financial intermediary and affinity partnerships, which has resulted in the firm hiring a further 60 staff.

”Several of the new partnerships were secured in response to RSA’s recent withdrawal from the UK home insurance market,” it said.

Lauren Bagley, chief distribution officer at Unisure, added: “It’s the busiest we’ve ever been in terms of on boarding new partners.

”We’ve found many organisations searching for end to end insurance [propositions] that focus on a digital first experience and engagement, allowing them to scale in the insurance space and provide great customer value.”

Investment

Uinsure has also invested in its digital service, which allows home and landlord insurance to be embedded by its partners so they can offer personalised cover to customers when needed.

Bagley added: “An expanded scale will only help in securing more competitive premiums for all our partners’ customers, which is another thing we’re working relentlessly on.

“We’re now absolutely committed to supporting our growing network of partners and delivering exceptional customer experiences at every touch point.”
