Insurance Times rounds up the biggest M&A stories from 7 to 11 April 2025

Starting off the week, insurance broker and underwriting agency Yutree Insurance completed a management buyout (MBO).

The MBO sees the business continue under the leadership of managing director Laura Hancock and chief executive Kevin Hancock.

Laura Hancock said the move came due to the business having “reached a crossroads”, following the departure of two founding shareholders.

Then, MNK Group launched a new unified brand that integrates its broking, MGA and carrier entities under one identity.

The rebranding, including a redesigned group website, connects all of MNK Group’s businesses, spanning the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.

Following this, broker MacDonald Group said it was rebranding after being acquired by Partners&.

Partners& purchased the Scottish firm, which provides business insurance, personal insurance and claims management services, in 2022.

After that, The Broker Investment Group (TBIG) acquired a book of insurance business belonging to Andrew Powell.

Powell is an experienced commercial account executive and has worked at brokers such as Clear Insurance Management in the past.

He owns a book of business worth £1m in gross written premium (GWP), which has now been snapped up by TBIG.

Rounding off the week, Clear Group acquired London-based broker Moore Robinson.

Established in 1987, Moore Robinson has experience in placing and managing property portfolios and construction projects for property investors, developers and managing agents.
