Starting off the week, Specialist Risk Group (SRG) announced an agreement to acquire managing general agent (MGA) Trilogy Underwriting.
It will sit alongside SRG’s underwriting pillar MX as part of the deal.
Then, insurance business investment firm Caledon Group (CGL) said it had acquired travel and wedding specialist Voyager Insurance Services.
Voyager was founded in Guildford in 1996 as a wholesale and retail insurance broker and has a team of 25 people.
And finally, broker Clear Group acquired the book and assets of Maynard Milton Insurance Services LLP.
Based in Essex, Maynard Milton is a broker that specialises in fleet and property insurance and controls £4.9m in gross written premiums (GWP).
People moves
Starting off the week, WTW appointed Lucy Clarke as its new president of risk and broking.
Based in London, Clarke will be responsible for the daily financial and operational management and growth of the business.
Then, (re)insurance firm Aspen promoted Tony Bishop to the role of chief data and analytics officer.
In his new position, Bishop will take responsibility for overseeing the data and analytics strategy, as well as the firm’s recently launched data labs.
And finally, independent specialist broker BMS Group promoted Hannah Watkins to the newly created role of UK chief growth officer.
The appointee’s responsibilities will include leading the development and execution of BMS’ growth plan, alongside working with carriers to consolidate its market presence.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
