Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 24 to 28 March 2025

Starting off the week, Touchstone Underwriting appointed Mike Patston as its new managing director, with predecessor Alan Roe having decided to retire.

Roe joined the MGA, which is a subsidiary of Seventeen Group, in 2010 and has held the role of managing director for the last 15 years.

Successor Patson joined Touchstone in 2015 and has been deputy managing director since 1 January 2024.

Then, Ardonagh launched a new global data and technology unit that will be chaired by Ian Donaldson.

In his new role, Donaldson will focus on building out digital and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across Ardonagh’s global platforms.

Following this, RSA announced that up to 250 jobs in Peterborough are at risk following the insurer’s decision to exit the personal lines market.

The firm told Insurance Times that it was “briefing our people in Peterborough about a reduction in job numbers that will be phased over the next two years”.

After that, Ardonagh Advisory chief commercial officer Phil Bayles was appointed as the interim managing director at Bravo Networks.

The move comes due to Scott Bennett, who has led Bravo Networks since 2021, moving to a new role within Ardonagh Advisory’s general insurance business as it prepares to transition to the Everywhen brand.

Rounding off the week, Allianz UK made two c-suite appointments to it commercial arm, with Adam Lloyd joining as chief underwriting officer (CUO) and Claire Buck joining as chief technical officer (CTO).

Both appointees will report to Phuong Ly, who will join as Allianz Commercial’s managing director for the UK on 1 April 2025.
