Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 27 to 31 January 2025
Starting off the week, Clear Group appointed Oscar Holloway as its new managing director of M&A.
Holloway’s appointment comes after the broker completed 12 acquisitions in 2024 to expand its presence in the UK and grow its specialist offering.
Then, Hiscox appointed Lynne Biggar and June Yee Felix as independent non-executive directors.
The two appointees, who take up their roles effective immediately, bring over 55 years of experience between them to the insurer.
Following this, Nigel Walsh announced that he had left his role as the global head of insurance at Google Cloud.
In a LinkedIn post on 28 January 2025, Walsh announced that he was departing the technology giant after four years.
After that, Arag UK announced that chief executive Tony Buss will step down after nearly 20 years with the firm.
Buss will be succeeded by David Haynes, who will officially assume his new role on 1 April 2025.
Rounding off the week, Policy Expert appointed former Aviva chief executive Mark Wilson as its new chairman.
In his new role, Wilson will drive the personal lines insurer’s strategy and explore potential M&A activity.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
