Insurance Times rounds up the biggest appointments, promotions and hires from 2 to 6 September 2024
Starting off the week, Aon announced that it had appointed Rob Kemp as its new head of commercial risk solutions for the UK.
In his new role, he will be responsible for bringing more of Aon’s risk capital capabilities to its clients across the UK.
Then, RSA chief executive Ken Norgrove was sworn in as the new deputy president of the ABI.
Norgrove will work alongside ABI president Tim Bailey, who is also UK chief executive at Zurich, to engage with the industry and act as a voice for the sector.
Following this, digital insurtech managing general agent (MGA) Ripe named Alan Thomas as its new chief executive.
Thomas joins from broker Simply Business, where he held the position of UK chief executive for nearly five years.
And then, Allianz appointed Graham Wright as its new managing director of home insurance.
Wright will join the business in December and become part of the personal lines leadership team.
This week also saw HDI Global’s newly appointed UK chief executive Stephanie Ogden unveil her new c-suite team.
Ogden took up the role in June 2024 after predecessor Richard Taylor decided to retire.
Rounding off the week, Axa UK and Ireland appointed Aviva’s Rahul Gumber as its new chief risk officer.
Gumber will take up the post in the new year and succeed David Baker, who has held the role for five years.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
