Insurance Times rounds up the biggest appointments from this week
Hiscox appointing a new UK head of schemes and Allianz announcing two c-suite hires were among the biggest people moves this week.

Tasha Pettet
At the start of the week, Hiscox announced that it had appointed Tasha Pettet as its new UK head of schemes.
Pettet will join in July to lead Hiscox’s 40-strong schemes team. She will report into UK chief distribution officer Gareth Hemming and be based in London.

Duncan Carter
A day later, Brown and Brown Europe revealed that Duncan Carter will step down from his position as chief executive of its UK retail business.
In a statement sent to Insurance Times, a Brown and Brown spokesperson said that Carter had “left the retail business as it nears the end of the latest stage of its transformation”.

Rebecca Merry
Following this, Partners& announced that it had appointed Rebecca Merry as its new managing partner for schemes.
In her new role, Merry will be responsible overseeing and bolstering the broker’s schemes for photography, electrical contracting, recruitment, gyms, art and performing arts.

Hanna Kam and Jason Howes
Allianz then announced two c-suite appointments to strengthen its position in the UK market.
The moves will see Hanna Kam take up the role of chief risk officer, while Jason Howes will be promoted to chief transformation officer.

Peter Scott and Fraser Edmond
Meanwhile, Broker Insights announced major changes to its leadership team to accelerate its UK growth and expansion in the US.
The insurance software provider announced that Peter Scott will take up the role of chief executive from Fraser Edmond, who will move into the position of president.

Andy Haste
Rounding off the week, (re)insurer Canopius announced that insurance veteran Andy Haste will become its new group chairman in July.
In his new role, the former RSA chief executive will take responsibility for chairing the group board as the firm looks to expand further.
