A range of changes at Biba and Policy Expert hiring an ex-Aviva leader were among the biggest people moves this week.

Angus Eaton
The start of the week saw the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) appoint Angus Eaton as its new chief executive.
Eaton succeeds Dominic Claydon, whose departure was announced in January after six years in the role.

The week also saw The London P&I Club appoint James Bean as its new chief executive, with it being confirmed that Ian Gooch will step down.
Gooch has spent the last 15 years as the top boss and 21 years as a director of A.Bilbrough and Co, the company that manages The London P&I Club.

Mark Hands
Meanwhile, managing general agent (MGA) ARMD hired Mark Hands as its new director of business development.
The role will see Hands help enhance the firm’s position in the UK broker market and support its growth objectives as it continues to rollout its Tools In Transit product.

Nicki Charles
Another move was announced by UK personal lines insurtech Policy Expert this week, with it appointing ex-Aviva leader Nicki Charles as its chief marketing and retail officer.
In her new role, Charles will be responsible for overseeing brand development, marketing and communication strategies.
She will also look to improve the customer journey by taking the lead in implementing technologies and consumer-centric approaches.

Biba changes
Rounding off the week, Biba announced changes to its main board as it confirmed that a “special resolution” had been agreed upon to reduce burdens for members.
Members that sit on the main board serve an initial period of three years as chair of one of the advisory boards, feeding into the board insight and opinion from a representation of brokers.
