Lloyd’s broker makes another key appointment
THB, the specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, announced the appointment of Matthew Gould as senior broker for its aviation team, reporting to Tom Thompson, THB’s director of aviation.
The appointment follows the new multi-sector UK strategy announced last week by Darren Nightingale, chief executive of THB MET, which encompasses the Lloyd’s broker’s marine, energy & transportation divisions, including aviation.
Gould has 12 years’ experience in the aviation market and joins THB Aviation from Ed Broking. Prior to that, he was an aerospace claims broker at Heath Lambert Group, having begun his career as a claims handler at Aviva in 2005.
“As well as Matt’s technical knowledge, which is so important in this sector, he also has a well-rounded understanding of the various sub-classes, with particular experience in general aviation and aerospace risks,” Thompson said.
Nightingale added: “Matt is joining THB at a particularly exciting time, as we implement strategies which not only embrace our specialist THB broking teams, but also bring together specialists from different sectors to meet our retail brokers’ needs more effectively.”
