Chief executive Scott Egan says he wishes outgoing chief financial officer David Junius ’well in his future endeavours’ 

Global specialty (re)insurer SiriusPoint has appointed ex-Guy Carpenter managing director Steve Yendall as its new chief financial officer, effective 31 October 2022.

He replaces current SiriusPoint chief financial officer David Junius, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Yendall will report to chief executive officer Scott Egan as a member of SiriusPoint’s executive leadership team.

Egan said: “Yendall has an accomplished financial background with considerable experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.

“On behalf of the SiriusPoint team, I would like to thank Junius for his contribution to our company and wish him well in his future endeavours.

“I am delighted to welcome Yendall to SiriusPoint and look forward to working with him again.”

Egan was previously UK and international chief executive of RSA between February 2019 to February 2022 – prior to that he was RSA’s chief financial officer.

Yendall also worked at RSA during Egan’s stint at thte firm.

Leading transformational change

Yendall has 25 years of reinsurance industry experience.

Most recently, he worked as a managing director for reinsurer Guy Carpenter.

Prior to that, Yendall was chief financial officer and chief operating officer at RSA Canada Group, where he also served on the board of directors.

He has also held numerous financial, operational and insurance advisory roles over his career at companies including Ernst and Young, where he was a partner for insurance advisory.

He has also held a managing role at Accenture.

Egan added: “[Yendall] also has a strong track record of leading successful transformational change – he will be an invaluable asset to SiriusPoint as we execute on our short-term priorities and longer-term strategic objectives.”
