It follows the firm making job cuts in February after an internal review
Saga is looking to make at least 300 redundancies for staff at its Folkstone and Ramsgate sites as Covid-19 continues to impact the travel industry.
The insurer and holiday operator for the over 50’s demographic employs around 3,000 staff.
It follows the firm making job cuts in February following an internal review. In June, Markerstudy made 478 staff redundant due to the impact of the pandemic.
Support
A spokesperson for Saga said: “As part of our ongoing focus on improving efficiency within the business and against the backdrop of the continued suspension of travel due to Covid-19, we have started a process that will see a number of colleagues leave Saga.
“We appreciate this will be a difficult time for all of our colleagues and are focused on ensuring they receive all the support they need.”
March saw Saga’s shares plunge to 7% due to the pandemic and a higher level of cancellations, but it said that its insurance business was unaffected.
