The move will ’allow us to realise operational efficiencies’, says chief executive
Sabre Insurance has moved its pricing and direct insurance platforms to insurtech CDL following a formal tender process, a statement released yesterday (10 July 2023) said.
The move will see Sabre launch on Proteus, CDL’s cloud-based insurer hosted pricing (IHP) hub, for mass market distribution.
The motor insurer will also be able to access CDL’s application processing interface (API) suite, which will enable it to build and maintain its own brand quote and buy journeys and out-of-the-box integration with price comparison websites.
Sabre chief executive Geoff Carter said the partnership will ”allow us to realise operational efficiencies, whilst also offering greater convenience, autonomy and enhanced customer experience”.
“The move to an IHP hub is also extremely timely and we look forward to having greater pricing flexibility, including the ability to roll-out enhanced pricing models,” he added.
“We also anticipate benefits from partnering with CDL to bring our IHP and direct systems together within a proven insurance ecosystem.”
Other moves
Meanwhile, Sabre’s direct private car and van brands, Go Girl and Insure 2 Drive, will migrate to the Strata retail insurance platform.

The launch on Strata will include the use of CDL’s self-service portal, which allows customers to manage their insurance policies online.
This includes downloading documentation and making mid-term adjustments.
Nigel Phillips, chief executive of CDL, added: “We are delighted to welcome Sabre to the CDL community and look forward to supporting them to expand their footprint and drive profitability as they embark on this digital transformation journey.”
