’Our retained IT security partner assisted with the management,’ says statement
Sabre Insurance Group has revealed today (22 November 2023) that it was hit by a cyber attack.
In a statement, the motor insurer said it had been targeted by an attacker who looked to gain access to its systems last week (16 November).
However, the firm said its IT security controls worked “promptly and effectively” and believes the attack was contained before sensitive areas of its systems could be accessed.
“Our retained IT security partner assisted with the management, assessment and resolution of the attack,” Sabre added.
“We do not believe any sensitive customer data has been accessed or that there will be any material financial impact as a result of this incident.”
It also said that customers have been able to continue making changes to policies, report claims and buy new policies securely.
