The appointee will be responsible for transforming the insurer’s claims technology
RSA Insurance has appointed Gary Mason as its chief operating officer delivery director.
Mason will be responsible for transforming RSA’s technology in its key operating and claims capabilities as well as contributing to the delivery of the company’s strategic outperformance objectives.
He will report to RSA’s UK and Ireland chief information officer Oliver Holden, a statement said today (3 April 2023).
“With customer expectations continuing to evolve, the customer experience has increased in its importance as a competitive differentiator in our industry,” Holden said.
“I’m delighted to welcome Gary to the team.
”His in-depth experience of leading multi year transformation change programmes, combined with his knowledge of successful Guidewire implementation, will be a real asset to our team.”
Succession
Mason has joined the business from Aviva, where he served as claims chief information officer (IT and change).

He also held roles at Allianz as vice president of global IT application systems and director of IT application systems.
His new role at RSA will see him replace Richard Thompson, who is leaving the company after 12 years to move to the USA.
Holden added: “I want to wish Richard Thompson the best of luck for the next exciting chapter in his journey and I’m certain that he’ll continue to be a huge success in whatever he does.”
