’The insurance industry plays a vital role underpinning the economic health of the country by enabling people, businesses and society to prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times,’
RSA Insurance chief executive Ken Norgrove has been sworn in as the new deputy president of the ABI.
Norgrove will work alongside ABI president Tim Bailey, who is also UK chief executive at Zurich, to engage with the industry and act as a voice for the sector.
He will also sit on the ABI’s consumer committee and the appointments and rumeration committee.
The new position sees Norgrove replace deputy president Clare Bousfield, who stepped down from her role as chief executive for retail and savings at M&G in Autumn 2023.
Bousfield had stayed on in her role as ABI deputy president after stepping down from M&G but has now passed the torch to Norgrove.
Commercial focus
Baroness Nicky Morgan, chair at the ABI, said: “I’m delighted to announce Norgrove as the new ABI deputy president. His insight and experience will be an asset to the organisation as we strengthen our expertise and focus on the commercial sector.
