Skye’s homeowners will have access to insurers through the insurtech’s partnership programme
Insurtech sharing economy specialist Pikl yesterday (16 November 2022) announced a new partnership with UK independent holiday cottage rental agency Sykes Holiday Cottages.
This will see Skye’s holiday homeowners introduced to Pikl’s specialist holiday home insurance via its preferred partners programme.
The insurtech’s technology gives homeowners access to a panel of insurers so that customers can purchase the most appropriate cover for their property.
Louise Birritteri, Pikl founder and chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Sykes. We can now provide Sykes holiday homeowners access to the most appropriate products and cover for their holiday let.
“Not all holiday home insurance policies are the same and we believe this new relationship will enable Sykes’ new and existing holiday homeowners to get the comprehensive cover they need.”
Access to good cover
Pikl’s holiday home product provides liability cover for guest injuries, malicious damage and theft caused by paying guests – many standard holidays home insurance policies do not include the latter or charge an additional cost.
Harriet Kerr, commercial director at Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: “We want to ensure that all of our property owners have access to good cover for their property and the type of letting they provide, hence our partnership with Pikl.
“Nobody wants anything to go wrong when letting out their holiday home. But, in the rare instances that it does happen, it’s good to know that our property owners will be protected financially.”
