The newly acquired team will work closely with the group to invigorate its risk management business
PIB Group has acquired specialist independent health and safety consultancy Baily Garner (Health and Safety) Ltd (BGHS).
Based in London and established in 1995, BGHS provides a range of services for construction projects including environmental management, fire risk management and safety compliance audits.
PIB’s purchase of BGHS aims to further strengthen its risk management business by bolstering its knowledge and bringing new complementary services to the team – including a bespoke web application.
Upon completion of the deal, BGHS’s team of 18 staff will remain with the business and continue to service their customers.
PIB Group chief executive Brendan McManus said: “I’d like to give a warm welcome to Paul and all our new colleagues at Baily Garner (Health and Safety) Ltd, who are another fantastic business joining PIB Group.
“They have earned an outstanding reputation as trusted advisors in their field of health and safety, which is demonstrated through their long-standing recurring customer relationships.
“With PIB’s investment, I look forward to seeing the business grow further and for the team to keep innovating as they are continually looking for ways to improve and enhance their business model.
“Our new colleagues will be in good hands working closely with our PIB Risk Management team and building an even stronger risk management proposition together.”
Matching ethos
Before BGHS, PIB’s latest deal involved buying commercial insurance broker and financial planning firm Alan Tierney and Partners (3 March 2022).
BGHS managing director Paul Lennon said: “The ethos within PIB Risk Management is very similar to our own with the passion to be the best that we can be.
“We are looking forward to working closer together to enhance and develop our professional services to a wider audience.
“Our clients have been key to our success and we want to continue to provide our clients with the comfort knowing that we have the depth and experience to continue this journey together.
“We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues and the exciting new opportunities this relationship will bring.”
With a 30 year trading history, BGHS originally started out as a team of construction design management (CDM) planning supervisors that worked within multidiscipline construction consultancy Baily Garner LLP. The BGHS business grew into a standalone sister organisation, establishing itself as a limited company in 1992.
