’There is something very inspiring about the thought of the London market coming together,’ says Formula 1 star
There is just one day to go until the London market aims to set a world record for the most participants in a static cycle relay.
The event, which has been created by Aventum and is supported by media partner Insurance Times, will begin at 10am on Tuesday 9 July.
Each participant will cycle at least 1km each in scheduled slots on a static bike placed on a purpose-built stage.
The London market collectively has until 4pm on Thursday 11 July to set the record.
Aventum also aims to raise £50,000 for Cancer Research as part of the record attempt.
Important cause
Formula 1 star Oliver Bearman, who recently signed a new contract with Haas, will be among people to take part in the event.

“There is something very inspiring about the thought of the London market coming together in Leadenhall market for such an important cause,” Bearman said.
“Cancer affects the lives of one in two people. Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.
“By collectively doing our bit, we’ll be helping to save lives and become a Guiness World Records title holder. I’m really excited to support such an inspiring and worthy cause.”
Matt Field, chief marketing officer at Aventum, added: “We have three days and two nights in Leadenhall market to achieve this goal and raise over £50,000 for Cancer Research.
“We’re calling on everyone in EC3 to help. Everyone can join in and take part no matter what their level of fitness or cycling experience and if you don’t want to cycle there are plenty of support roles you can sign up for too to do your bit – we’re going to need an army of helpers.”
