First Forward is NIG’s new apprenticeship program, the first program for brokers since government policy was amended

NIG has launched an apprenticeship-based training program for brokerages.

It is the first insurer to launch an apprenticeship based training programme for broker partners since government policy around apprenticeships changed in August 2018.

NIG says the program is tailored to brokers’ requirements for staff training and development, will support insurance brokers to deliver against the needs of their most talented individuals.

It comes after NIG worked with industry experts to design a program offering apprenticeship level 4 training, CII DIP qualifications; skills-based training, mentoring and industry exposure for brokerage staff.

10 individuals from NIG’s top 50 independent brokers have been selected and will join NIG executives and their brokerage sponsors at the launch event in London tomorrow.

Steve Scott, director of broker markets at NIG, said: “Brokers have told us that staff training and development is a significant challenge, so I’m delighted that we’re launching this new initiative, to help brokers nurture the talent within their business and to help individuals reach their full potential.

“The NIG First Forward training proposition, alongside our existing support packages for training, our contemporary products and our commitment to offering effortless service, further emphasises NIG’s commitment to the broker market.”
