’Our trainees will be in the field from day one, learning directly from experienced professionals,’ says chief executive
Wiser Academy, a provider of insurance training and development, has partnered with Oakleafe to launch a new training programme aimed at developing new loss assessors and claims professionals.
Called Oakleafe Academy, the programme incorporates face-to-face, practical training rather than relying solely on remote learning.
Trainees will work alongside experienced professionals in real-life claims environments while earning CILA and BDMA qualifications, which are recognised as industry standards in claims management.
Graduates who successfully complete the programme are offered full-time roles at Oakleafe Claims as property claims technicians.
Lee Goodwin, chief executive at Oakleafe, said: “Loss assessing is a practical profession – it cannot be learned solely through screen-based training.
”Our trainees will be in the field from day one, learning directly from experienced professionals, shadowing real claims and developing the skills required for the role.”
Fast-track
The programme aims to offer a fast-track training pathway, enabling participants to gain three industry-recognised accreditations within just 15 months.

The first intake has already begun, with candidates currently undergoing training.
Lily-Rose Hopgood-Smith, who leads the Claims Academy programme at Wiser Academy, said: “By investing in new talent, we are not only securing the future of the profession, but also ensuring that knowledge, skills and best practices are passed down for generations to come.”
