Managing general agent (MGA) GrovesJohnWestrup Private Clients has officially closed for business.
In a LinkedIn post, the firm announced it would no longer accept new or renewal business from 4 October 2024.
However, the MGA said it will continue to service all existing policies for the time being.
It added: “Current policies can still be managed through our broker portal and any claims can be made via our claims page until 2 October 2025.
“We’d like to thank our clients, partners and colleagues for your support and trust over the years.
“Thank you for being part of our journey.”
The business
London-based GrovesJohnWestrup Private Clients launched in 2020 and served as the high net worth (HNW) arm and trading name of Munich Re Specialty.

Its proposition included buildings, contents, valuables, antiques, home emergency, home cyber and travel cover.
It was announced that the firm was being out into run-off in July 2024 after Munich Re Specialty carried out a review of its businesses.
A Munich Re Specialty spokesperson said: “Munich Re Specialty continues to focus on its core portfolio of products and solutions concentrating on primary specialty risks.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
