’We feel that the association’s platform will give us a great opportunity to connect with brokers,’ says head of operations
The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has today (27 June 2023) announced Signature Underwriting as its 200th member.
MGA Signature Underwriting was established in 2013 and specialises in taxi, courier, haulage and commercial own goods insurance.
The MGAA said that increasing its membership total to 200 underlined “the strength and continued growth of the MGA market in the UK”.
“We’re delighted to be welcoming our 200th member, Signature Underwriting, and to have reached such an important growth milestone for the association,” said Mike Keating, chief executive at the MGAA.
“We look forward to welcoming new members whilst we retain a laser focus on meeting all member needs.”
Connecting with brokers
Welcoming Signature Underwriting to the association means MGAA members now control over £7.3bn of gross written premium (GWP).

In addition to MGA’s, the association’s membership includes 56 market practitioners and 122 suppliers.
Kelly Sims, head of operations at Signature Underwriting, said the team was “excited to be joining the MGAA and to raise our profile within the MGA and broker communities”.
“We feel that the association’s platform will give us a great opportunity to connect with brokers regarding our niche motor hire and reward insurance product offering,” she added.
She noted that as a small team, one of the “greatest challenges” was “having people away from the office for large periods of time to attend training sessions”.
However, Sims said the MGAA addresses this by hosting training online.
“The additional benefits of high-quality training and development opportunities for our employees, as well as the ability to attend the annual conference, made this decision an easy one for us,” she added.
