MGA Hive Underwriters has appointed Henning Haagen as its new chief development officer.
In his new role, he will work alongside Hive’s chief executive Bruce Carman to expand the company’s specialty underwriting portfolio and strengthen its market position.
He is set to join the firm and become part of the executive team on 1 January 2025.
Haagen said: “I am excited to join Hive Underwriters and partner with Carman and his team to lead the company’s growth ambition in specialty lines and further diversify the portfolio.

Experience
Haagen will bring 24 years of experience to his new role.

Most recently, he served as chief regions and market officer at Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS), overseeing global distribution, multinational operations and regional underwriting and claims across Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America.
He also served as the North American chief underwriting officer for aviation, energy, marine and entertainment at AGCS.
His career has also seen him work as an active underwriter at Augsburg Re and a senior underwriter of aviation reinsurance at Swiss Re.
