Marsh has appointed Andrew George as its new president of Marsh Specialty.
As president, George will be responsible for overseeing Marsh Specialty’s global business units, which include aviation, climate and sustainability, construction, credit specialties, energy and power and financial and professional lines.
He brings over 35 years of experience to the role, having joined Marsh in 1988.
His previous leadership positions include heading the energy practice for the Middle East and North Africa and serving as global chairman of the energy practice.
Based in London, George will report directly to Martin South, president and chief executive at Marsh.
“George’s appointment is a testament to the incredible specialty talent and expertise that exists within our global organisation,” said South.
“Through his engaging leadership and exceptional experience, our colleagues across Marsh and Marsh McLennan will drive outstanding outcomes for our clients by delivering the data-led insights they need to navigate today’s rapidly evolving global risk environment.”

Marsh also announced that John Donnelly, currently president of global placement, is relocating from London to New York.

He will join Marsh’s executive committee alongside George and report directly to South.
South said:“’Donnelly’s extensive experience and leadership in global placement will be key to Marsh’s continued success.
“His relocation to New York will further strengthen our capabilities in driving strategic, data-led solutions for our clients in the global market.”
