The chosen appointee has proven herself to be ‘invaluable’ during her time at the business
Markel International – a subsidiary of Markel Corporation – has today (11 January 2022) promoted wholesale operations director Carys Lawton-Bryce to the role of chief operating officer, subject to regulatory approval.
The appointee has also joined Markel International’s executive committee with immediate effect.
Lawton-Bryce brings 17 years of insurance industry experience to the team, having begun her career at Lloyd’s in its international operations team before moving on to the role of head of change and IT at commercial insurance provider CNA Hardy.
Prior to joining Markel International, she served as head of pricing at specialist motor insurer ERS.
In her new role, Lawton-Bryce will be responsible for the build-out, strategy and day-to-day management of the business’ wholesale and national markets division.
She will report to Simon Wilson, president of the international division of Markel.
