’With his expertise and network, we can build an exceptional team and offering,’ says managing director

Evolin Broking has launched a new construction division that will be led by new appointee Steve Downing.

Downing, who has taken up the role of head of construction, will be responsible for building out the construction offering.

This includes construction all risks, erection all risks, builders risk, delay in startup and third party liability products.

He will also be focused on finding market talent to support product development and distribution.

“Evolin has seen considerable growth in 2024, with the addition of its casualty division, as well as new facilities for its clients,” the appointee, who is based in London, said.

“Establishing and leading the new construction division is a great opportunity.”

Experience

Downing brings more than three decades of industry experience to the role.

He was most recently an account executive at broker Miller. Before this, he served as senior vice president at Lockton.

Other roles he has held during his career include account manager in Aon’s construction arm and director at Willis.

In his new position at Evolin, he will report to managing director Chris Baulf.

Baulf said: “We see immense opportunity in the construction sector.

“With Downing’s expertise and network, we can build an exceptional team and offering, continuing to adapt to our clients’ needs and the evolving risk landscape.

“I look forward to working with him to bring best-in-class construction solutions to market.”
