’I look forward to engaging with my fellow board members to shape and support the work of the LMG going forward,’ says appointee
The London Market Group (LMG) has appointed David Kirk to its board as a representative of the International Underwriting Association (IUA).
Kirk, who has almost 20 years of industry experience, currently serves as Chubb Global Markets’ division president.
He took up the role in 2024 after holding several positions within Chubb’s marine operations, including deputy chief underwriting officer and head of marine.
Speaking about joining the LMG as a board member, Kirk said: “I look forward to engaging with my fellow board members to shape and support the work of the LMG going forward.
“As we operate in an ever-more perilous global risk landscape, and with London facing increasing competition from other established and emerging markets, the work of the LMG has never been more important.”
Kirk succeeds David Furby, who serves as the senior vice president at Chubb Group and regional president for EMEA.
Sean McGovern, chief executive at Axa XL UK and chair of the LMG, said: “I would like to welcome Kirk, who has deep expertise in one of the heartland classes of business in the London market, and I would also like to extend the sincere thanks of the board to Furby for his time and contributions as a member of the board.”
