The appointments will ‘build on the existing breadth of talent and expertise’ on the board, says the association
The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has appointed three senior market leaders to its board today (19 October 2022).
Joining the association’s board are Liberty Specialty Markets chief underwriting officer Jane Warren, Aegis London’s chief executive Alex Powell and Aspen Insurance UK’s chief executive Richard Milner.
In a statement, LMA said that the new appointments would “build on the existing breadth of talent and expertise across the LMA board”.
In addition to these appointments, the LMA announced that Brit group head of claims and operations Sheel Sawhney has joined the board as a member, having joined earlier to deputise for Matthew Wilson.
Matthew Wilson, Matthew Moore, Emma Woolley and David Croom-Johnson have stepped down from the board.
Strength and depth
LMA chief executive Sheila Cameron said: “I am delighted to welcome Jane, Alex and Richard.
“These additions will further reinforce the strength and depth of our board with their vast range of market knowledge, experience and leadership, which will be a great asset as we look to develop the LMA’s priorities for 2023.”

The membership of the LMA comprises all 50 of Lloyd’s of London’s managing agents – who together wrote £39.2bn of gross premium in 2021 – and all Lloyd’s member agents.
The membership organisation exists to represent its members’ interests to organisations such as governments, regulators and the Lloyd’s Corporation.
It also provides professional and technical expertise to members and operates the LMA Academy as a education service for the market.
