’She has built a strong reputation among her colleagues in the corporation and throughout the market,’ says chief executive
Lloyd’s of London has revealed that Claire Schrader will be taking up the role of general counsel on a permanent basis.
Schrader stepped into the role on an interim basis in August 2023 after Peter Spires decided to step down from the position.
The role sees her take responsibility for managing legal risk in the marketplace.
Lloyd’s said it was promoting her as she has built a “strong reputation among her colleagues in the corporation and throughout the market as a trusted legal adviser”.
“She is a great role model for our future leaders and I’m extremely pleased to confirm her permanently in a role that is critical to Lloyd’s delivering on its strategic priorities,” John Neal, chief executive of Lloyd’s, added.
Experience
Schrader is a qualified solicitor and has over two decades of experience in law and the insurance sector.
