The new appointee will bring ‘nearly two decades of deep knowledge and experience,’ says chief executive
LexisNexis Risk Solutions has appointed James Burton to lead its UK and Ireland business as insurance managing director.
Burton, who had been with the company for seven years, took up the role after being responsible for the management and execution of product strategy across the business.
The move came as Jeffrey Skelton, who Burton replaced, took up the role of chief executive at Icis, a brand of LexisNexis Risk Solutions.
In a statement announcing Burton’s appointment this week (4 April 2023), the new insurance managing director said he was “delighted” to start the role and lead the company’s next phase of growth.
“Insurance providers are facing a host of regulatory, environmental and economic challenges,” he said.
“At the same time, consumer expectations have heightened.
”I am delighted to take up this position at such an exciting time in our business growth as we roll out a series of innovations to bring unique and actionable insights around properties, vehicles and claims histories.”
‘Seasoned leader’
Prior to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Burton worked in several product and analytical roles across loyalty, credit risk and debt management for organisations such as Ikano Bank and Equifax.

“He is a seasoned leader with nearly two decades of deep knowledge and experience in the insurance and financial services sectors,” Madison added.
“These qualities have played no small part in the success of some of our most recent innovations to solve key market challenges.
“We are pleased James has taken up this new position.”
