’These acquisitions reflect the strength of our businesses and their confidence in the support we provide,’ says chief executive

JMG Group has expanded in the UK through a trio of acquisitions made by three of its businesses – GS Group, Greenwood Moreland and Lighthouse Risk Services.

GS Group has acquired Scottish broker W K Insurance, Greenwood Moreland has purchased York-based UKI Direct and Lighthouse has made a swoop for Leeds-headquartered TSE Solutions.

JMG Group chief executive Nick Houghton said the deals reinforced its UK presence, with him adding: “These acquisitions reflect the strength of our businesses and their confidence in the support we provide.”

The acquired firms

W K Insurance is a commercial broker established over 40 years ago. The acquisition brings seven professionals into the GS Group team, including newly appointed managing director Scott King.

UKI Direct, meanwhile, serves SME clients throughout the UK. The acquisition adds £2.5m in gross written premium (GWP), taking Greenwood Moreland’s total placed premiums to over £58m across its seven locations across the UK.

Three broking professionals join Greenwood Moreland as part of the deal, including Ian Donald, who steps into a leadership role as part of a planned succession for outgoing owner Mike Howard.

Finally, TSE Solutions is a specialist in tailored risk management and is run by managing director Antony Eckersley.

Eckersley will join the Lighthouse team and continue to work with his existing clients, while taking up a key role in business development.

Houghton said: “Each firm has identified and seized growth opportunities that align with their values and ambitions.”

“Our role is to support them – providing infrastructure, financial backing, and operational expertise – while enabling them to grow independently and make sound commercial decisions.”
