’We know offering clients solutions, which are designed to meet their specific needs, is a genuine differentiator,’ says retail managing director
The Jensten Group has revealed the key role that broker Darwin Clayton will play in its schemes operations after acquiring the firm earlier this year.
In a statement released yesterday (7 June 2023), the insurance distribution business said it had completed its purchase of the Tunbridge Wells schemes broker.
It said that as part of the deal, which was first announced on 1 March 2023, Darwin Clayton will become the centre of excellence for schemes.
It means the firm will sit alongside the existing regional and specialist teams of Jensten Insurance Brokers as a focused centre for schemes and affinity business.
Jensten Retail managing director Rob Organ said: ”A major part of our strategy is to develop and distribute bespoke products which meet the specialist needs of different sectors and communities of clients.
”We know offering clients solutions, which are designed to meet their specific needs, is a genuine differentiator.”
’Proven capability’
Darwin Clayton manages a range of specialist schemes, providing insurance solutions for sectors including cleaning, security, facilities management and electrical contracting.

Purchasing the firm brought more than 40 staff, 2,300 clients and in excess of £20m gross written premium to Jensten.
As part of the deal, Darwin Clayton chief executive Simon Henderson reports to Organ and continues to lead the business.
Organ added: “I’m delighted to welcome Simon Henderson and the Darwin Clayton team to Jensten.
“They have proven capability and significant experience in this space and together we’ll focus on growing the range of schemes, offering compelling propositions to more client groups.”
