The deal ‘highlights the strength of Jensten’s proposition to brokers contemplating a sale where a clear commitment to retaining a regional presence is important’, says chief executive
Insurance distribution business Jensten Group has committed to expanding its regional presence in East Anglia following the completion of its acquisition of One Broker Group.
In a statement released yesterday (2 October 2023), Jensten revealed that its purchase of One Broker Group had received regulatory approval from the FCA – marking its largest deal to date.
Buying the business will see Jensten gain £60m of gross written premium (GWP) and 115 new members of staff, as well as enabling it to build on its regional centre of excellence in the region.
“The acquisition of One Broker highlights the strength of Jensten’s proposition to brokers contemplating a sale where a clear commitment to retaining a regional presence is important,” said Jensten chief executive Alistair Hardie.
“One Broker is one of the outstanding regional assets in the UK broking sector and we are delighted to welcome Robin Plaster, Sean Clark and the rest of the team to the Jensten family.”
Strategic ambitions
One Broker Group managing director Sean Clark will continue to lead the business alongside chief executive Robin Plaster, as part of the move.

The business, which is based in East Anglia, provides independent insurance broking services to business and individuals across the UK. Its offerings cover the likes of cyber, motor fleet, home and car insurance.
It also offers several specialist schemes, including solutions for private ambulances, community led housing, community assets, thatched homes and classic cars.
Jensten stated that “further deals in the region will be announced imminently” as part of the announcement.
The announcement follows Jensten’s initial statement earlier this year (12 September 2023), when it announced that it had acquired One Broker Group.
“We look forward to working with the team to achieve further growth in East Anglia,” said Hardie.
