Divisional director says ‘there is a strong cultural fit’ between the two companies
Digital platform and distribution solutions provider IS2 has extended its partnership with specialist insurer Markel Direct.
A statement announcing the deal yesterday (4 May 2023) said the move will see IS2 deliver an “ambitious roadmap” for Markel with multi-channel distribution.
This will include mobile phone applications and embedded insurance for schemes through its application processing interface (API).
IS2 founder and managing director Simon Pritchard said: “We’ve been consulting and delivering innovative solutions for them for a number of years now for their direct channels and also helping Markel to support partners on volume opportunities, affinity or scheme placements.
“We’re excited to be embarking on the next stage of the journey to deliver their ambitious digital roadmap with some really exciting new projects already in the pipeline.”

Rob Rees, divisional director of Markel Direct, said there was a “strong cultural fit” between the two businesses.
“Their strategic consultancy extends beyond being solely a tech supplier and it is a core partnership for us in achieving our aims,” he added.
“With their support, we are investing heavily in our leading digital platform to create a seamless customer journey and enhance our distribution capabilities through the introduction of our API for tech-led partners and further white label enhancements for scheme business.
“It’s an ambitious roadmap and this latest extension of our partnership with IS2 is indicative of our commitment to delivering on those goals.”
