’Nurturing and developing our existing talent, while recruiting new people with fresh thinking is important to me,’ says chief executive

HDI Global’s newly appointed UK chief executive Stephanie Ogden has unveiled her new c-suite team.

Ogden took up the role in June 2024 after predecessor Richard Taylor decided to retire.

Among new appointments to her UK executive team include Simon Hunt, Gemma McWilliam and Oliver Davies, who have taken up the roles of chief finance officer, chief people officer and chief distribution officer respectively.

Meanwhile, Adam Dewdney has been appointed to the role of chief actuary, while John McCammon will become the new chief compliance officer.

And Varan Selvarajah has been named as the new chief risk officer.

The executive team is comprised of employees from HDI’s commercial and specialty operations.

It is currently recruiting for a chief operations officer and chief claims officer.

Ogden said: “Our UK and Ireland business has seen consistently strong, profitable growth and our success is testament to the dedication and commitment from our talented employees across the whole business.

“Our new executive team draws on this experience and expertise. I am confident that under its leadership we can continue this impressive growth while meeting the needs of our clients and brokers as a trusted, reliable partner in times of transformation.

“We have aspirations to be a leader in the UK and Ireland for clients looking to partner over the long-term with an extensive range of commercial and specialty products across a variety of risk transfer and risk services.”

Existing directors

HDI also revealed that its existing underwriting directors will join the executive team.

This includes Adam Curran, director of specialty underwriting, Antonia Osborne, director of commercial underwriting and Jade Wilcox, director of delegated authority underwriting.

Ogden said: “I would also like to congratulate all those with new and expanded roles within our organisation.

“Nurturing and developing our existing talent, while recruiting new people with fresh thinking, is important to me and I am excited about what our business can achieve as we all move forward together.”
