Alison Williams, managing director at Prestige Underwriting, talks about the company’s entry for the MGA of the Year award
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the MGA of the Year category?
We are a long-established and standard-setting MGA. We specialise in non-standard and niche home and motor products, boasting 26 years of successful trading built on strong relationships with our broker and insurer partners.
We are market-leading, investing in value-added enhancements to ensure positive customer outcomes for all key stakeholders. In 2023 we surpassed our core GWP objective and we are on track to surpass our 2024 target.
We truly believe we are worthy of winning the MGA of the Year category, highlighted through our strategic growth, long-term stability of A rated capacity, pioneering innovative approach and standout offering for brokers.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
Partnership is at the heart of our approach with our brokers and our insurer partners. We continuously strive for the best positive customer outcomes through innovation and evolution.
We were the first MGA to onboard Flood Re and then embrace their Build Back Better initiative, providing brokers with a solution to cede non-standard household risks.
Additionally, we were the first to embed a claims concierge service into our home policies, offering our customers crucial support at the time of a loss. We consciously only work with rated capacity for our core products, ensuring a sustainable solution for our broker partners and their clients.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Our people are our greatest asset, enabling us to excel at what we do. Our customer first, agile and flexible approach to continually enhancing our products and service has been integral to establishing longstanding and collaborative trading relationships with our Broker network.
To win Insurance Times MGA of the year would reaffirm our position as the non-standard partner of choice for brokers and would be recognition for our team for being the very best at what they do.
