Lizzie Smith-Foreman, chief marketing, communications and sustainability officer at Markerstudy, talks about the firm’s entry for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category?
We’ve always been known for our innovative approach to business and, since 2023 in particular, we have been in a unique position to be able to adopt ideas from businesses we’ve acquired.
We wanted to showcase and share with the judges all that we’ve achieved because we’re proud of it!
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
We celebrated key achievements over the last 12 months, including our first Markerstudy Group Challenge, raising more than £48,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, which is included in the total £268,000 donated to charities.
Our ‘Focus 4’ initiative has been extremely successful in engaging colleagues and our #WeAreMarkerstudy network supports us with excellent ideas on how we can create an even more inclusive workplace.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Our colleagues show time and time again they’re willing to go the extra mile to make a difference in the communities and environment around us.
Winning this award would be a wonderful way to celebrate them, and all that we’ve achieved, as a business and collectively, as individuals.
