Patrick Linighan, chief sustainability officer at Clyde and Co, talks about the company’s entry for the Sustainability Initative of the Year award

1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the Sustainability Initative of the Year category?

Our Zero as One Initiative was launched nearly a year ago and in that time we have seen tangible results which is testament to the focus and engagement from our colleagues, clients and suppliers.

We entered this award to showcase how small steps can lead to positive change.

2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

Central to this initiative was our colleague engagement campaign highlighting the role that every one of our employees could action as individuals and as influencers and advocates for change.

Our initiative comprises practical and small actions that every one of our employees can easily take or get involved with to reduce our carbon footprint.

In turn, this highlights that everyone in an organisation can play an important part in the race to combat the effects of climate change and can make a difference.

3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

We would be delighted to win this award on behalf of all of our employees as it would acknowledge the commitment and hard work to date.

At Clyde and Co we believe sustainability should never be one person’s job – it should be part of everyone’s – and this award would affirm this.
