Kelly Lane, operations director at Clegg Gifford, discusses their entry to the Commercial Lines Broker of the Year award category.
Why did you want to enter the Commercial Lines Broker of the Year category?
As an ambitious broker entering our 57th year, we’ve delivered the most dynamic and far-encompassing set of initiatives in our history and recorded record growth in the process.
We wanted to share our branch expansion project, to bring broking back to the high street. Britain is a network of high streets, rich in personal and cultural history, and the heartland of many communities.
Our high streets are in crisis, and we wanted to bring broking back to where it all began.
What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
Our bold branch expansion and the way we’re enabling face to face claims conversations are by far the biggest things we are doing to stand out from the crowd.
We support local businesses with bespoke commercial insurance packages and are actively involved with numerous ‘Business Improvement Districts’ unifying the community, as well as the ‘Save The High Street’ campaign.
We’re also committed to creating jobs and apprenticeships to benefit the local economy and support various local charities and sports teams.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Given the incredibly ambitious targets set, every department pulled together to help realise our ambition of excelling in the UK’s commercial insurance space.
I would love to see the team win this award to recognise their amazing efforts after such an exceptional year for the company.
