’Both bring extensive experience across underwriting, strategy and distribution,’ says co-founder

Market intelligence firm Insurance DataLab has expanded its advisory board with two new members.

The appointees include Hayley Robinson, former group chief underwriting officer at Zurich, and Maxine Goddard, former senior vice president of strategic distribution and development at Sompo International.

Robinson and Goddard join existing board members Mark Cliff, Andy Fairchild, Ian Hughes, Tony Tarquini and David Williams. Shân Millie, meanwhile, has stepped down following her retirement from executive life.

The new appointments follow an investment round in November 2024, which Insurance DataLab said had allowed it to enter its next growth phase.

Insurance DataLab co-founder Dan King said: “We are delighted to welcome Robinson and Goddard to the advisory board.

”Both bring extensive experience across underwriting, strategy and distribution, adding further strength to an already exceptional board, and we look forward to benefitting from their wealth of experience as we continue to drive the business forward.”

Experience

Robinson has worked for a range of insurers during her career, of which six years were spent at Zurich.

Before this, she worked for just under two years as Aviva’s chief underwriting officer for personal lines. She also spent 27 years at RSA in a range of senior roles.

Robinson said: “I am delighted to be joining the advisory board at this exciting time in Insurance DataLab’s development.

”Never have those involved in performance tracking and market benchmarking had better access to such powerful tools and insights.”

Meanwhile, Goddard spent the last three years at Sompo International. Before this, she was an advisory board member at GreenKite.

She also spent 14 years at Zurich, most recently as head of sales operations and planning.

Goddard said: “Access to reliable and intelligent data is central to how we analyse, set strategic priorities and make informed decisions that impact the future of our businesses.

”I’m excited to be a part of the Insurance DataLab journey and am thrilled to be joining the board.”
