’We listened to brokers and recognise that service remains a key priority,’ says chief underwriting officer
Rokstone Underwriting has promoted Lee Ellis to head of its farm and agricultural specialist unit iFarm Underwriting as the business expanded its team of underwriters.
In a statement released today (5 June 2023), Rockstone said Ellis was “well-positioned to take the helm” after joining the firm in 2022 as underwriting performance manager.
During his career, he also held product manager roles at Geo Underwriting and Rural Insurance.
Rokestone said Ellis offered “a wealth of experience and expertise in the insurance and agricultural sectors”.
“His strong leadership skills and in-depth understanding of the industry will undoubtedly contribute to iFarm’s future success and expansion,” the firm added.

Ellis’ appointment came as Rokestone confirmed that iFarm had recruited four new underwriters with specialist farm expertise.
They are Glenn Cockburn, Denise Pickburn, Graham Hull and Demi Stephenson.
Pickburn – who has worked for insurance companies in both corporate broking and commercial underwriting roles – will join as senior farm underwriter, while Hull and Stephenson will take up assistant underwriter positions.
Meanwhile, Cockburn will take up the role of farm underwriter after working as a farm underwriter for 10 years at insurance provider Lycetts.
Gavin Dollings, chief underwriting officer at Rokstone, said: “We listened to brokers and recognise that service remains a key priority.
“Now, with Lee’s leadership, along with our recently expanded underwriting teams and our continued investment in technology, we are confident that we can deliver exceptional solutions and service to our clients and capacity partners.”
